2016-17 for AIWS has been a year of experimentation, learning, and evolving. This year put us through many challenges; it made us push ourselves to new limits, become innovative, and emerge with unique insight. It challenged us to change, modify or recreate to modify with our beneficiaries. We found ourselves more grounded, more articulate about our non-negotiable, and more adaptive to external situations. It has been a year where we have achieved our target amidst challenges.
Other than this, we initiated new measures by forming a new committee of young people to spread awareness regarding different social issues, and also begin spreading awareness on topics such as poison and female foeticide through flash-mob, street plays, workshops in remote areas around Jaipur and slum areas in the whole year and reached out to more than 500 children. We also contacted 1160 individuals through various platforms and flagged child protection as an influential agenda. It has gained visibility through print and visual media such as Times of India, Rajasthan Patrika, DNA, Etv Rajasthan, and Lokmat.
